Paternity testing and Human Identity testing are useful for determining paternity (parentage) and kinship among individuals.  There is, of course, interest in the lifestyle and financial ramifications of having a child, which explains the use and popularity of paternity testing, but the usefulness of DNA human identity testing goes further than that. Identity testing is often used in the forensic sciences as well.

It is of interest to many individuals to know their biological roots, especially when it involves health issues that may be inherited.  For this purpose, DNA identity testing, similar to paternity testing, can be used to determine kinship to determine whether an individual belongs to a family group and may have related health issue concerns.  Our kinship tests can help you sort that out.

Kinship tests are important to determine whether a person is related to another person.  These tests, along with typical paternity (parentage) tests are useful in the contexts of adoption, immigration, divorce, child custody, estates and more.

IDNA Systems, offers a broad range of DNA testing for parentage (both private and legal testing with chain of custody), including prenatal testing or from umbilical cord blood, sibling/half-sibling and kinship testing, relationship testing, grandparentage, twin zygosity, and others.

We perform both STR and Y-STR (Y-chromosome) testing using patented systems and are performed under license.

Most tests require simple buccal swabs (mouth swabs) and are results are typically available in under 5 days.  Your tests are not sent out, but are processed in our state-of-the-art DNA laboratory.

What is the easiest way to have a Paternity Test done?

If the test requested is a Private Test (Private Testing), the easiest way is to call us to order a home collection kit.  We prefer that you call us so we can be sure that you are requesting a test that will fit your particular situation. You may also email any questions to us. 

You may also order the test online (Internet Order Form)  and use a credit card or PayPal account.   You can use any form of payment PayPal accepts.  PayPal provides fraud protection for both the buyer and the seller and is a very secure way to pay.

If you prefer, you may mail in an order (Private Paternity Mail-in Order Form) with the written request and consent form.  You can pay the fees in full or send a deposit (see the order form or price list) and send the balance with the samples.  We accept credit cards, PayPal and money orders, no personal checks please.

Regardless of how you order, you may use PayPal as a method of payment.  Contact us and we will explain how to do it.

The sample collection kit contains everything you need and the sample collection only takes a couple of minutes to do.  The collection of the sample simply involves rubbing the cheeks inside of the mouth with a foam swab for about 20-30 seconds.  Anyone can do it.  All instructions are included.  Simply mail the samples back to us and your report will be on its way to you within 5 business days.  We will also call you or fax the results to you if request us to do so. 

The PRIVATE test is EXACTLY the same as if you had someone collect the sample, except you avoid the inconvenience of making appointments and traveling to a collection site since sometimes not everyone who needs to be tested is available at the same time.  You also save money. PRIVATE tests are not legally admissible in court.
